Deployed Like at Battle

During four days employees of the First Squad of Federal Fire Service for the Republic of Tatarstan have demonstrated their professional skills at competitions on battle deployment on a training polygon. The competitions were attended by 48 duty guards each consisting of 5 people from 12 fire departments of OFPS-1.

The first task was to cool conditional burning tank. The second task was to pave the trunk line, rescue an “injured” the role of which was played by a dummy. The third stage checked the skills of firefighters in using three-knee ladder when extinguishing conditional fire on an overpass.

The squads chief, Aleksey Shapovalov, who watched the competitions’ process attentively, commented, “Our squad is the only one in the republic, which makes competitions on battle deployment. I think, they’re very important, because during a fire every second counts, and the end depends on how fast a fire crew will arrive to a scene, deploy fire techniques and correctly proceed to extinguish a fire or liquidate an accident. That is why fire guards’ preparedness which defend industrial objects of the city around clock must be on high level. And for this we must train and train.”

Team results were distributed in such a way: the first place was taken by FD-37, the second place was taken by FD-78, and FD-44 took the third place.
