The Best Rescuer of the Volga Region, “My Job is My Hobby”

“Even to drive a nail, even to repair a helicopter. He can do everything,” so rescuers of Kazan Search and Rescue Squad of EMERCOM of Russia characterize their colleague Yuri Yelizarov. He devoted more than a half of 44 years of his life to rescuing people that got in situations dangerous to their life. There are more than 800 departures to liquidation of various emergencies and accidents behind him. He participated in operations on searching people in natural zone more than 150 times.

He became a rescuer in far 1991. He is the leader of landing team of Kazan Search and Rescue Squad. “It’s important to have an aim in your life. People were coming from the outside when they didn’t know about the work anything, but they joined the team, accepted the work properly and became brilliant specialists,” he thinks.
