Every Day 3-4 People Die in the Waters of the Republic

This sad statistics was announced by the Deputy Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, Oleg Stepuschenko during a briefing, today. It was dedicated to the provision of people’s safety on the water objects of the republic. To improve the situation the management of Tatarstan takes “wild” beaches under control of operational groups of EMERCOM, MIA and local administrations and gives a go-ahead for levying fines for violation of life security rules on water objects of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The main causes of that people die on water objects are:

- in 35 cases swimming in unequipped places when in a drunken state;
- in 14cases swimming in unequipped places;
- in 4 cases inadequate control by parents, lack of swimming skill;
- in 3 cases going down through the ice;
- in 3 cases falling into the water when fishing;
- in 2 cases falling into the water when in a drunken state;
- in 1 case driving a vehicle into the water.
