Traumatic stress and post-traumatic stress disorder
Emergencies are characterized by a super-strong effect on the human psyche. This causes him traumatic stress, experts from the republican rehabilitation center say.
Traumatic stress is a special form of a general stress reaction. When stress overloads a person's psychological, physiological, and adaptive capabilities and destroys defenses, it becomes traumatic.
In the conditions of the Rehabilitation Center, 16 patients were diagnosed between 2020 and 2025.:
- 1 patient is a participant of military operations in Chechnya,
- 1 patient is a combatant in Afghanistan,
- 3 patients are medical staff,
- 11 patients are participants of the SMO.
This disorder occurs not only in people who have gone through military operations, but also in civilians - these are medical workers.
This category of rehabilitators works with people who have suffered serious injuries or are on the verge of life and death.
Post-traumatic stress disorder syndrome is a serious problem that requires attention and a comprehensive approach to treatment.
