Yuri Venediktov, Deputy Head of the territorial body of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan, Chief State Inspector for Small Vessels of the Republic of Tatarstan, comments on the situation in the water bodies of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In such conditions, going out on the ice is extremely dangerous for anglers. The meltwater that is present on the ice hides information from a person about whether there is ice under it at all. You just can't tell without risking your life.
When going out on the ice, it is necessary to use foot guards.
Ice movements are also possible. That is, it can break away from the shore, and a person risks being in the water right next to the shore, and even in a significant crack.
Fishing is best now in familiar and safe places. You should not go fishing alone. Check the strength of the ice in front of you on foot.
But it is best to refrain from hiking on the ice in such weather until the return of stable frosts. You should also not use snowmobiles. It's extremely dangerous, you can fail.
There is no need to go skiing or hiking. Skiing, according to the rules for protecting human life on water bodies, is not regulated at all. Only ice crossing is regulated. If a person skis on the ice, he must unfasten the fastenings so that the skis do not drag him into the water and lead to drowning.
