On November 27-29, the IV Congress of Young Scientists was held in SIRIUS. KNRTU-KAI was represented by the Head of the Department of Industrial and Environmental Safety Elena Viktorovna Muravyeva at the event "Big Data and prospects for their application for predicting emergency situations" at the invitation of the Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, head of the interdepartmental working group on the preparation and holding of the Congress of Young Scientists A. Kobyakov.
The speakers at the event were also the head of the Scientific Research Center of the Academy of Civil Protection of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters named after Lieutenant General D.I. Mikhaylika Anatoly Valerievich Rybakov, Director of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technical Activities of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bondar, Vice-Rector for Science and Digital Development at Bauman Moscow State Technical University Pavel Anatolyevich Drogovoz, Director of National and Strategic Projects at Yandex Cloud Anna Lemyakina.
Various issues were discussed at the event. Who should form the scientific agenda in the field of emergency forecasting? Is artificial intelligence necessary for the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia? Where to get the data and what should it be? Who should they be available to? Who should use them? Will big data analysis models help predict the sources of emergencies? How to achieve the desired reliability? Who should develop artificial intelligence technologies to predict emergencies? What kind of specialists are needed to develop predictive models?
Elena Viktorovna shared KNITU-KAI's experience in using big data in forecasting and monitoring emergency situations, as well as the interaction of the Department and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan in these matters.
