The training camps of the cynological teams took place over two days in the Verkhneuslonsky district in the forest near the village of Kamenka. Rescuers with their four-legged assistants, representing the Kazan Search and Rescue squad, a branch of the Volga regional search and Rescue squad of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, as well as their colleagues from the Chelyabinsk region, took part in them. Dog handlers of the Search and Rescue Service at the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan and volunteers from Nizhny Novgorod also participated in joint training. There are more than 10 calculations in total.
The participants chose an abandoned pioneer camp in the forest to conduct dog training. There are ideal conditions for conducting a search for victims of a man–made accident and the natural environment.
But in order to consolidate the skill, training and exchange of experience with colleagues from other squads and regions are necessary. We worked in shifts.
The stages of the search in the man-made rubble were carried out on the territory of the destroyed pioneer camp. In a pile of construction debris, service dogs had to find conditionally injured people in a limited time. If the bloodhound was tempted by sausages, the stage is failed. The search for a conditionally injured person in the natural environment took place in a wooded area near the village. Cynological calculations were looking for "lost mushroom pickers".
The third stage of the training camp was devoted to testing the obedience skills and agility of service dogs. During the exercises, the four-legged "rescuer" must work without a leash, perform the exercises quickly, with interest, without showing fear of sound stimuli, obstacles, and people present.
Following the results of the gathering, experts noted the successful interaction of professional rescuers with volunteer dog handlers.
