The thickness of the ice in the reservoirs of Tatarstan is safe for Epiphany bathing

    This was stated by Yuri Venediktov, Deputy head of the territorial body of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Chief State Inspector for Small Vessels of the Republic of Tatarstan.

    He said that the average thickness of ice in the reservoirs of the Republic of Tatarstan is 30 cm. This "ice armor" is considered safe for traditional bathing on the feast of the Epiphany.
