Today, JSC Tatmedia hosted a briefing with the participation of the Chief State Inspector for Small Vessels of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Venediktov. The speaker told reporters about measures to ensure safety at water bodies during the bathing season and navigation of small vessels in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Summer in Tatarstan turned out to be especially hot this year. Abnormally high temperatures were established at the end of July and continue to this day.
According to Yuri Venediktov, the situation on water bodies is extremely complicated, tens of thousands of people are resting on the banks of rivers and lakes of the republic, and hundreds of small vessels are on the water.
Since the beginning of the year (taking into account the data of the forensic examination for July 2023), according to departmental records, the following incidents have been registered:
- 84 (the same period last year – 85);
- 62 people were killed, including 7 children (the same period last year – 59, including 9 children).
Since the beginning of the bathing season (from June 1), there have been:
- incidents – 58 (the same period last year – 61);
- 49 were killed, including 5 children (the same period last year – 48, including 9 children);
The most common cause of death of people on the water is bathing in an unequipped place. Since the beginning of the bathing season, 39 people have died for this reason, including 7 children, the second most common cause is falling into the water. as a result, 17 people were killed.
The republic is constantly working to prevent the death of people on the water.
