According to Nikita Korobitsyn, chairman of the Kazan SRW Council, on July 30 at 16:45, Kazan SRW rescuers who were on duty on the beach of Lake Komsomolskoye saw a young man swimming from the opposite shore, who waved his hands and went under the water, swam out and asked for a friend's help.
When his friend swam up and the drowning man grabbed his friend by the neck, they began to sink together. SRW rescuers moved out by boat, threw a lifebuoy to those in distress and transported them to shore. The ambulance was not needed, the would-be swimmers got off with fright. To bring the situation to drowning was not allowed by the rescuers of SRW.
