A rally was held in Kazan today in memory of the participants in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident who heroically fulfilled their duty. The event in honor of the 37th anniversary of the tragedy at the nuclear power plant was held in the square at the intersection of Yamashev and Amirkhan Avenues. The ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Chernobyl victims was attended by representatives of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, the city Executive Committee and public organizations.
The memory of the dead and those who died as a result of the Chernobyl accident was honored with a minute of silence and gun volleys. The guard of honor laid a basket of red roses at the foot of the memorial.
