EMERCOM employees ensure the safety of the Unified Games of the 2023 Special Olympics in Kazan
To ensure the safety of the Games, a grouping of forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of 445 people and 77 pieces of equipment is planned. The Unified Games of the 2023 Special Olympics are held from January 21 to 27. The grand opening of the competition will take place on January 22 at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center.
The Unified Games of the Special Olympics are international competitions that are held according to the program of the Special Olympics in 18 sports: badminton, basketball, volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, athletics, table tennis, swimming, tennis, futsal, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, short track, figure skating, skiing, floorball, dance sports. The purpose of the Games is to strengthen and preserve health, as well as to attract people with intellectual disabilities to regular physical education and sports.
2 countries are invited to participate in the Games: Russia and Belarus. Russia is represented by 59 regions.
In the period from January 21 to January 27, the work of the operational headquarters of the Main Directorate for Security during the preparation and holding of the Games will be organized. Measures to ensure the safety of the Games are under constant control of the Main Directorate.
