The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns fishermen about the danger of going out on thin autumn ice every year. As soon as the bays are covered with an ice crust, lovers of winter fishing, like a magnet, are drawn to reservoirs. It is during this period that SISV inspectors strengthen preventive work among the population
It is worth noting that the ice on the Volga has not yet completely strengthened. At the sight of emergency workers, some extreme fishermen hurriedly run away, others desperately prove that the ice is thick enough and there is no danger. According to experts, the safe thickness of ice that can withstand the weight of a person on lakes should be more than 7 cm, and rivers with a current – 12 cm.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations hold conversations with fishermen, hand out memos, remind them of the danger of thin ice. Meanwhile, the specialists of the Department of Public Order Protection draw up protocols for violators of the Rules for the Protection of Human Life on water bodies. During today's raid, 6 protocols were drawn up, which have now been submitted to the administrative commission for consideration.
