Alexey Pesoshin: the number of fires increased by 19%, the number of the dead people - by 84%. At an unscheduled meeting of the CESFS of the Republic of Tatarstan an emergency measures to stabilize the situation with fires and deaths of people were discussed
Since the beginning of the year, as of May 4, 2021, 2,053 fires have occurred in Tatarstan, which is 20% more than in the same period of 2020 (1,700 fires). At the same time, the number of people killed in fires during this period increased by 93% (the number of people killed in fires on May 4, 2020 – 45 people, on May 4, 2021 – 87 people).
Such data was presented today at a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Ensuring Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan by the Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan-Head of the Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work Sergey Sergeev.
All municipal districts of the republic took part in the meeting via videoconference.
These fires are caused primarily by untimely cleaning of the territories of settlements from dry grass and debris, i.e. today last year's grass is burning, which was not mowed and removed in a timely manner. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations initiated 281 administrative cases, of which 214 decisions were made on bringing to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine totaling 534 thousand rubles.
