Improving the skills of firefighting and working out the interaction of fire protection officers and forestry workers in the elimination of fires and fires in the forests – these were the main goals of the training exercises organized in the Zelenodolsk district forestry. Such exercises are held annually, and, as a rule, in the spring and summer period – a time when the fire danger in the forests increases significantly.
The exercise was attended by units of the 8th fire and rescue squad, which most often have to go out on an alarm signal to catch fire of grass and debris. According to the legend of the exercises, a young pine tree caught fire in the forest. The person on duty immediately reports to the fire department, directs forest workers to the fire site, who extinguish the fire with shovels and knapsack sprayers. Soon, tanker trucks arrive and serve water to extinguish the fire. In order to prevent further spread of the fire to a large area, foresters carry out plowing with the help of tractors with a plow PL-1. In a couple of minutes, the duty crews of the 53rd fire and rescue unit arrive to help the foresters. Next, they organize joint fire extinguishing from several directions at once. Together they cope with the fire.
Conducting fire-tactical exercises becomes relevant in dry, dry weather. The cause of fires in forests, most often, is the human factor. Up to 80% of forest fires occur due to violations of fire safety measures by the population in recreation areas. Therefore, an equally important goal of the exercises is to draw people's attention to the problem of the occurrence of fires in the forests and to convince them that the best protection against fires is to prevent it. During the May holidays and weekends, a joint patrol of foresters and firefighters will traditionally be organized in order to identify hotbeds of fires and fires. Active work on fire prevention propaganda is constantly carried out, full houses, banners are installed, memos and leaflets are distributed.
