Autonomous fire detector saved the life of an elderly woman
A fire in a private house in the village of Ilbukhtino, Tukayevsky district, was reported to the fire department at 14.18 Moscow Time. A resident of the village, who lives next to the house that caught fire on Svoboda Street, called. She and her husband saw their neighbor run out of the burning house. The pensioner heard a high-pitched sound from the operation of the fire sensor and quickly left her home.
The source of the fire was in the kitchen, where a woman was preparing food. She put a pot on the gas stove and went into her room to watch TV. After some time, the woman felt the smell of burning and heard the activation of an autonomous fire detector, which was installed in the kitchen (another one was in the room). She decided to block the gas supply in the kitchen and reached out to close the valve on the pipe, while getting a burn on her right hand. After that, the pensioner ran out into the street and did not enter the house again. The victim refused to be hospitalized. Her daughter took her in. I must say that the autonomous fire detectors in the house were installed by the children at their own expense, worrying about the safety of an elderly mother. And they served their purpose by preventing the woman's death in the fire.
The flames from the kitchen quickly spread to the roof, then engulfed the entire house. As a result of the fire, a residential building and a bathhouse on the site burned down. Fire area -60 sq. m. The preliminary cause of the fire is carelessness in cooking.
