Although in a limited mode, the Museum of the Zelenodolsk Fire and Rescue garrison continues to receive visitors. As a rule, groups of schoolchildren come to look at the exhibits. However, this time, activists of the Council of Veterans of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Zelenodolsk district expressed a desire to learn more about the history of fire fighting.

The guests were shown and told about the milestones of the formation of fire protection in the working village of Paratsk, from which the city of Zelenodolsk later emerged, about the first fire teams in ship repair shops, about the creation of the eighth squad, which united object and territorial fire departments. At the stands, many of the former employees of the internal affairs bodies (and until 2004, the fire department was part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) recognized their friends, colleagues at work.

It was pleasant and interesting to learn about the contribution of people they knew to the history of the Zelenodolsk fire department. Of particular interest was the stand dedicated to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Military orders, awards, a real military tablet, which carried the roads of the war up to Berlin, the former head of the city fire brigade Vasily Stepanovich Chernov, land from the places of military glory of Russia – all this could not leave indifferent people who spent many years serving in the internal affairs bodies. At the stands dedicated to the participants of the military operations, the head of the veteran organization Alexey Karin read a heartfelt verse of his own composition.

Old and modern "boevki", breathing apparatus, fire escapes and other equipment... - all the exhibits of the exhibition were told in detail to the guests and explained their purpose. In turn, many of the veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs themselves could tell a lot about the fire protection of the Soviet period. So, Valery Makarov-the famous Zelenodolsk artist at one time also worked in the city fire department. He was directly involved in the creation of this museum, and as a gift he performed a song with a guitar for all those present.

"I really liked it! You are doing a very useful job!... " - veterans of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Zelenodolsk district left their review in the Book of Honorary Guests. They promised to come here again with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
