On November 2, 2020, the Republic launched a month of security in housing
This preventive action is aimed at preventing fires in housing and the death of people on them, as well as at ensuring that the population complies with fire safety rules in everyday life.
Within the Month, with the support of Executive committees of municipal formations created by prevention group, which included staff (employees), fire protection, police, local authorities, instructors prevention of all-Russia voluntary fire society, the members of the voluntary fire brigade, representatives of social protection, city services, electricity, and state housing Inspectorate.
During preventive rounds of the residential sector, professional groups conduct legal education and legal informing of the population about mandatory fire safety requirements in housing stock and localities with the distribution of thematic fire-prevention memos and informing citizens about the need to install Autonomous fire detectors in private homes and apartments.
The main causes of fires that killed people are:
careless handling of fire-78 dead (64.5% of the total number of deaths);
violation of rules of device and exploitation of electric – 27 deaths (22.3% of the total number of victims);
violation of rules of device and operation of furnaces and flues – 8 dead (6,6% of the total number of deaths);
