Tatarstan President instructed to strengthen control over compliance with safety rules on reservoirs

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to take measures to ensure the safety of people on water bodies under special control. He said this on Saturday, July 18 at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin.

Irek kadamov, acting head Of the main Department of the Russian Ministry of emergency situations for RT, said that the situation on the water remains tense, given the abnormally hot weather over the past weekend. Over the past week, 14 people, including 3 children, were killed in the reservoirs of the Republic. In the previous week, 11 people drowned, including 1 child. It should be noted that only over the weekend of July 11 and 12, 10 people drowned, including 1 child.

Irek kadamov noted that since the beginning of the year, 55 people, including 5 children, have died in the reservoirs of the Republic, and 36 people, including 3 children, have died in the same period last year.

As for administrative practice, 45 people were brought to justice last week for violating the rules for protecting people's lives on water bodies in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. Now this figure has been increased 4 times to 179 protocols.
