January 14, 2019 in "the CMCS EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan" on the system "GLONASS-112" received a message about the poisoning with carbon monoxide in the city of Kazan in the house apartment by the Syrtlanova str, 19. Employees of gas service and physicians of ambulance were there in a short time.
As a result of the incident, a woman born in 1983 and a girl born in 2003 in a state of moderate severity were hospitalized in the 7th city hospital in Kazan. According to LLC Gazprom transgaz-Kazan, the gas economy in the apartment was in good condition, the Commission on establishment of the cause of incident works.
The main Department of EMERCOM of Russia on RT warns: the most common sources of carbon monoxide are faulty gas, oil, wood stoves, gas appliances, water heaters in swimming pools and engines that emit exhaust gases. Cracks in furnaces, clogged chimney, blocked by snow or due to lack of wind protection chimneys can lead to the fact that carbon monoxide will reach residential premises.
Analysis of the causes of emergency situations associated with carbon monoxide poisoning, there indicates the following reasons for their occurrence:
* non-compliance with the rules of use of gas or other alternative fuels in the home;
* use of home-made (non-standard) and non-certified heating devices for heating of living rooms;
* incorrect installation of chimneys;
* overlapping of ventilation shafts and channels or their absence in rooms where gas heating furnaces and devices are installed;
* use of gas and other heating devices and furnaces in rooms for rest and sleep;
* use of an open fire to heat non-ventilated or poorly ventilated rooms;
Carbon monoxide is produced by incomplete combustion of natural gas or other alternative fuels.
