Today, mass swimming of sportsmen in the 3 km in a competition of World Masters Championships took place on river Kazanka. 380 sportsmen classified into 9 age groups went to the start each 20 minutes. Safety of the participants was provided by 182 people and 19 units of techniques, including 51 people on 18 swimming means from EMERCOM.

Mobile patrol crews which consist of GIMS state inspectors, rescuers of Kazan Search and Rescue Squad of EMERCOM of Russia and MIA employees, go on duty every day. Their main objective is not to allow violations of small ships navigation rules and conduct rules on the water. From the moment when the prohibition entered into force, the navigation in total of 129 small ships was stopped in the area of river Kazanka from railroad bridge at 799th km of Vosstanie – Derbyshki stage downstream to railroad bridge at 13th km of Lagernaia – Kazan (Kirov Damb) stage.

In the period between July 28 and August 5, staff forces of Search and Rescue Service under EMERCOM of RT in cooperation with freelance rescuers held another stage of the action “Safety on the Water”. While the main forces of rescuers are concentrated on safety provision of the World Aquatics Championship, squads of freelance rescuers replace them in districts of the republic. They help EMERCOM staff to organize and hold preventive actions that are directed to safety provision on water bodies. As of August 4, the action was held nearly in all municipal units, which have an access to major water bodies and rivers covering 3 527 people.

Incidents as of August 6:

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 55 times. Including burning garbage extinguishing – 8, false alarms – 15, short circuit of wiring without burning – 4,  singed meal – 2, cooperation with other services – 16. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 5 fires, including in the residential sector – 2, outhouses – 1, garden houses – 1.

Specialists of Radiation and Chemical Control go on duty everyday to provide safety of the main sports event of the summer. crews of mobile centers of radiation and chemical monitoring of HQ EMERCOM of Russia for RT took their positions on three objects of the water championship: training pools “Olimp” and “Orgsintez”, and on the quay of river Kazanka where competitions on swimming on open water and the most extreme kind of sports of high diving were taking place. This EMERCOM staff will continue their duty also in the period of XVI World Masters Championships.

Including burning garbage extinguishing – 6, false alarms – 17, short circuit of wiring without burning – 4,  singed meal – 8, cooperation with other services – 19, others – 1. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 5 fires, including in the residential sector – 1, outhouses – 1, garden houses – 1.

Inspectors of GIMS of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of Tatar Regional Department of VDPO and Kazan OSVOD continue to carry the culture of safety into the masses at the 25th Anniversary of EMERCOM of Russia. Today, EMERCOM staff arrived with their special cultural program to the most attended object of XVI World Aquatics Championship, where the final of gripping competitions on high diving was taking place, and organized a real safety festival for children and their parents: with the music, funny competitions, balloons and presents.

Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 5 fires, including in the residential sector – 1, garden houses – 2.

Today, competitions on diving from a 27-meter tower, more known as high diving, have started at the World Aquatics Championship. This kind of sports is considered to be not only the most spectacular in the tournament, but also the riskiest. 25 divers of Search and Rescue Service Under EMERCOM of the Republic of Tatarstan are involved in safety provision of the competitions at the object of “Kazanka”. Also, on the water area cutters of GIMS Center, and on land sub-units of Supervision Department and Federal Fire Service are on duty.

Today, a thematic conference call was held in EMERCOM of Russia under the leadership of Minister Vladimir Puchkov. It was dedicated to the preparation of educational organizations independently of forms of property to the beginning of the new school year. The conference was attended by Chief of Volga Regional Center of EMERCOM of Russia, colonel general of inner service, Igor Panshin, and Chief of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, lieutenant of inner service, Rafis Khabibullin.
