Today, at a meeting of the state council of Tatarstan within the framework of the parliamentary hour, Irek Kadamov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Colonel of the Internal Service, delivered a report "On fire safety in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2024-2025". He noted that in 2024 and 2025, efforts were focused on solving problems related to improving fire safety activities.
Work was carried out to ensure comprehensive security during the elections of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and deputies of local governments of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as international and Russian large-scale events.
The management bodies and forces of the territorial subsystem of the unified state emergency prevention and response system of the republic ensured reliable control of the situation, timely assessment of possible risks was carried out, preventive measures were taken, timely response to accidents and emergency situations was carried out, which made it possible to adequately protect the population and territory of the republic, including from fires.
In 2024, 4,217 fires were registered in the Republic of Tatarstan, which, unfortunately, killed 115 people, including 3 children.
Compared to 2023, the number of fires decreased by 15%, the death toll by 19%, and the number of injured decreased by 1.5%.
As of September 16, 2025, 2,744 fires were registered in the Republic of Tatarstan, which killed 91 people and injured 113 people of varying severity.
The number of fires decreased by 3.3%, injuries to people decreased by 21.5%, while the death toll increased by 21 people or 30.0%.
In total, 5 children died in fires in 2025, 2 children each died in the Chistopol and Vysokogorsky districts and 1 in Kazan.
On June 24, a fire was registered in the Vysokogorsky municipal district with the death of 3 people, including 2 children.
The main causes of fires are still careless handling of fire - 49%, emergency operation of electrical equipment - 28% and furnaces - 13%.
The main causes of death in fires are: careless handling of fire - 52%, violations of the rules of installation and operation of electrical equipment - 32% and furnaces - 8.7%.
The main condition for death is still being intoxicated. Thus, of the 88 dead, 45 people, or 51.1%, were drunk.
It should be noted that no forest fires have been registered in the current period of 2025.
In 2024, 22 units of equipment were received at the expense of the federal and republican budgets. It is planned to receive 30 units this year.
A lot of work has also been done on the design, construction and major repairs of the facilities of the Main Directorate and the Ministry.
