June 22, 1941, was the day that changed the fate of millions of people forever.
The audience was reminded of the heroic deeds of the Soviet people, the heroism of soldiers and home front workers, as well as the severe trials that befell the country. Every family has its own story, its own pain, its own unhealed wound.
During the event, the audience was introduced to a unique project - "Letters from the Front". This website preserves for posterity authentic soldier's letters full of hope, courage and love for the Motherland.
The site contains hundreds of letters from 1941-1945. Some of them were read aloud: touching lines from fathers, husbands and sons, the latest news from the Brest fortress and besieged Leningrad. Each letter is a personal story, reminding of the price of Victory.
The audience supported that this event is not just an action. This is our memory, our gratitude and our duty to the generation of winners. We will read poetry, listen to songs from the war years, and watch chronicle footage so that "no one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten." At the end of the event, all those present honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
