On March 18, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations hosted an All-Russian conference call on seasonal risk preparedness under the leadership of Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The head of the emergency Department, Alexander Kurenkov, took part in it. Alexey Pesoshin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Irek Kadamov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for Tatarstan, participated in the meeting via videoconference.
Dmitry Patrushev drew special attention of the regions to the condition of hydraulic structures, ownerless facilities, checking the readiness of storm water systems and scaffolding spaces, work on the establishment of flood zones and their protection.
Command and staff exercises have been launched in the regions to work out practical actions to eliminate the possible consequences of flooding and wildfires. They will be held in two stages under the personal supervision of the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Operational groups and forces of fire and rescue units have been deployed to areas of conditional emergencies. Engineering and special equipment, aircraft, and drones are used. Orthophotoplans of flood-prone areas and models of the development of a fire-hazardous situation have been developed using the space monitoring system. More than 48,000 people and 14,000 pieces of equipment are involved in the training.
