Traditionally, before spring break, Russian Emergencies Ministry employees increase the number of meetings with schoolchildren to remind them of safety rules at home and on the street. The organizers told the young guests about the dangers of going out on the spring ice, as well as about the actions that need to be taken to save a person who has fallen through the ice.
The main thing is to immediately call for help from rescuers by calling 112 and not get too close to those who have fallen through the ice, so as not to end up in the water either. It is necessary to use ropes, belts, scarves, long branches, logs, any improvised materials that will help the victim to grab on, and you will be allowed to pull him out of danger.
For deaf students, the "lecture" was translated by a specialist in Russian sign language. It is important to train people with hearing disabilities, because they are at even higher risk. If you fall through the ice, you will not be able to call for help and attract the attention of bystanders with sounds.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is implementing the "Safety is available to Everyone" program, which provides information and educational work with hearing disabilities so that they know the safety rules and are able to help themselves and their loved ones in various life- and health-threatening situations.
