Do not go out on the ice and prepare for navigation of small vessels, study changes in legislation – Regina Gayazova

    Changes in federal and republican legislation in the field of human safety on water bodies were discussed today at a media briefing at the Tatar-inform news agency of Tatmedia JSC.
 
    First, Regina Gayazova, Head of the Department of Human Safety at water Facilities of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Tatarstan, focused on the general situation. Since the beginning of the year, 7 people have died on water bodies, 6 of them in March during the period of active melting of ice in the republic's reservoirs, and 14 people, including 2 children, have also been rescued since the beginning.
 
    According to the forecast of the Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of the Republic of Tatarstan, ice removal from the Kuibyshev reservoir is expected 3 days earlier than the average annual dates – from 08.04 to 13.04.

    According to the Kazan District of Waterways and Navigation of the Volga Basin Administration of Inland Waterways on the Volga River, navigation (floating) conditions will be set until 22 April.
