The opening ceremony and the first starts of the XX All-Russian Fire and Rescue sports competition "Cup of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan" took place in Kazan today.
The guests of honor of the sports festival were Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Kadamov and others.
For the first time, competitions in fire and rescue sports for the Cup of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan were held in Kazan in 2004. Then 10 teams competed for the title of the best. This year, representatives of 21 teams from different regions of Russia will compete for the trophies - a total of 450 participants.
The geography of the participants is traditionally extensive. Representatives of 21 teams from various regions of the Russian Federation will compete for the trophies. Athletes from many regions strive to Kazan to test their strength on the eve of crucial starts.
So, for the Cup of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, there is a team competition in three types of programs - overcoming a 100–meter obstacle course, climbing an assault ladder and a two-man event.
