On March 6, 2017 at 8.30 P.M. there was received a message about falling a car down the ice on the Volga river in 400 meters from the village of Verkhny Uslon. The KIA Spectra car moved onto the ice on an unspecified place and on its way drove into an ice hole with its front wheels. There are no dead or injured. The driver escaped. Employees of Verkhny Uslon fire and rescue garrison and inspectors of the Center of GIMS EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan arrived to the scene.

According to the technical examination of the ice passage on the Volga between the Settlements of Zelenodolsk and Nizhnie Vyazovye, inspectors of the Center of GIMS of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan made a decision to introduce the traffic limit on the ice passage for vehicles over 2.5 tons from March 6, 2017. The limit will last until 9 o’clock in the morning on March 9. After that, the given ice passage will be finally closed for traffic.
