Each guard has demonstrated skill

25 January 2021, Monday

Divisions of FFS SFS Nizhnekamsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Management of contractual divisions of FFS SFS in the Republic of Tatarstan" took part in the competition for emergency rescue operations in the aftermath of road accidents. This year there was a large-scale innovation - their skills were demonstrated not by the national teams, but by each guard on duty of all 14 fire and rescue units of the squad. And this is 56 teams!

According to the legend of the practical exercise, as a result of the car hitting an obstacle, the driver and passenger were blocked in the cabin. They are conscious, but received conditional injuries: a closed fracture of the lower leg in the driver and a closed fracture of the forearm in the passenger. It is suspected that the victims received a spinal injury.

The start is given, and the captain of the team of four firefighters-rescuers goes to investigate the scene of the accident. He assesses the situation and sets a task for the personnel: "Start performing emergency rescue operations!»

Rescuers fence off the accident site, place a fire extinguisher, to prevent movement and rocking of the car, install fixing "shoes" and "pyramids". Then open the trunk and hood to check for gas equipment and de-energize the on-board power grid.

Through the rear window of the car, one of the firefighters enters the interior. He covers the victims with a protective cloth to protect them from conditional fragments – after which, the other firefighters break the window panes and dismantle the roof of the car with a hand-held emergency rescue tool.

Since the victims are suspected of spinal injuries – a neck brace is applied to the mannequins. A wooden "victim" sitting in the passenger seat is placed directly in the passenger compartment with a tire that fixes the shoulder and elbow joints. After dismantling the seat backs, the dummies are fixed and removed from the car on a rigid shield. A tire is placed on the injured leg of the conditional driver by placing the doll on a stretcher. Then, the "victims" are carried to the finish line to be handed over to the ambulance staff.

Barely catching their breath from passing a practical task, rescuers in the classroom begin to test their theoretical knowledge. They are computer-based tests on tactical, technical, medical training and occupational safety requirements.

"These competitions show that we are not just firefighters, but also rescuers who are ready to help. Our employees take part in the elimination of the consequences of real road accidents and show professional work. "- Dmitry Gordeev, head of SRU-44 told reporters — "Thank you to the management of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim for completing our fire trucks with the necessary emergency equipment."

The result of the team's performance is the sum of the time spent performing the practical exercise and the additional time for the number of penalty points awarded for violations during emergency rescue operations and incorrect answers to test questions, 1 point = 5 additional seconds.

The best time (in minutes) was shown by the following teams:

2nd place: 4th guard SRU-57-7,12,13
