In the case of voluntary homeownership insurance, compensation for damage from the effects of flooding will be further organized at the expense of Federal funds
This was stated today by Acting Minister for civil DEFENSE and emergency situations of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Surzhko during a briefing organized for media representatives in the Cabinet of Ministers. The main theme was - "about the readiness of the territorial subsystem of the RSES to implement measures for the passage of melt water and measures to prevent and mitigate the consequences of possible emergencies associated with the deterioration of the flood situation."
Nikolai Surzhko, in particular, said: "in accordance with the changes in the current legislation, at present, the organization of compensation for damage caused to houses, apartments and other types of residential premises is carried out primarily on the basis of the voluntary insurance mechanism. In the case of voluntary homeownership insurance, compensation will be further organized at the expense of Federal funds. Taking into account the forecast of the flood situation, I ask everyone to once again consider the possibility of voluntary insurance of their households."
